Halloween visitors!

It was about time for another trip to visit my parents, but this time they made the drive to see us - which was delightful! I didn't even have to get off my couch!  They came for a long weekend and we were able to spend an evening together before the Cleveland bachelors came to meet us in Pittsburgh.

Smoked. Meats.

Smoked. Meats.

The weather was beautiful, so we walked around Squirrel Hill to try a new restaurant, called Nu Jewish Bistro. I had heard that it had a nice selection of smoked meat sandwiches, and you can't argue with BYOB! Drew came with us and the walk around town put him right to sleep. He slept through most of the meal while we feasted. Dad and I both got the smoked beef, and it was really tasty.  Our waitress was also very helpful and nice to chat with, which made the evening all the more enjoyable.

Paul, John and the fur ball Dale came to Pittsburgh the next day and we fired up the grill with some Maplewood brats, which were fantastic. John was drooling over them.  We also decided to have a little moose meat that Dad brought home after his Canadian hunting adventure with Uncle Dale! It was so interesting to try the meat, and surprisingly, quite good!

It was so nice to have a house full of guests and family. There's nothing better really! The weather was perfect and allowed for a few nice walks in Frick Park. We even took Drew to the swing set and let him swing for a bit, all snuggled in his jumper. We handed out candy for the kids that came for Halloween, while Drew was dressed as a little skeleton outfit that Jack and Kathy got him!  We are very thankful for the visitors!  Please come again soon!
