After Drew was born we were so pleased to have frequent visitors to join us in Pittsburgh.  Paul's family was scheduled to come out on Memorial Day weekend. We anticipated that Drew would surely have arrived by then!  It was the perfect weekend for the freshly minted Grandpa Anderson to come and meet his grandson!  Luckily, John, Erik, Tiggy and Bumps were also down for a road trip to Pittsburgh!!  They initially thought of driving out the minivan, but it was soon upgraded to the Anderson conversion van. They also had the task of packing much of what Paul and John would need for the apartment in Cleveland.  Not only did they have 6 adults with luggage, they also had a whole kitchen in the back of the van! It was pretty tight quarters, and getting in and out at the rest stops was surely a process.  After back tracking for the iPass, and getting Tiggy stuck in her seatbelt, they hit the road for the 12 hour road trip to visit us!

Drew and I greeted our guests out on the front porch.  He was in full Packer gear ready to welcome everyone to stay with us.  We had to get creative in our sleeping quarters and the basement served as our 4th bedroom! Luckily it has been upgraded since we bought our house, and apparently wasn't that bad to sleep in. The visit was excellent - full of home cooked meals, happy hours, and lots of Drew snuggling.  Dale also had a chance to bond with his extended family.  He made sure to give Tiggy his finest puppy eyes in order to convince her to drop a few samples of biscotti. They were instant friends of course.  Dale went on many runs each day with all of the Andersons.  I was able to sit back and enjoy some time to myself and share the Drew love.

We went for plenty of walks while everyone was here.  The whole family went to Jerry's records and stocked up on some classic CD's.  It was a good thing we went on all of the walks, because we also made our way out to Fat Head's!  It was happy hour, so the boys enjoyed the half price beer menu. I went face first into the biggest burger I could find. What is better than a medium-rare burger, with brisket, bacon, cheese, and egg?? Almost nothing is the answer. So good. I definitely took advantage of the whole, "still eating for two" excuse. The food was great, and it was fun to get out of the house and grab some dinner.

Dooze was kind enough to take some family photos while he was out here.  I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get a few family shots of Paul, Drew and I.  We decided to take photos in the back yard during happy hour.  Everyone had to get into the mix of the photos.  Although we were not planning a X-mas card, it sure felt like it! We had multiple different shots, and thanks to Erik's fine camera skills, he captured some beautiful memories.  There are really never too many photos.  Drew is growing way too fast, so I'm making it my personal mission to capture many of these moments!

We are so grateful that Paul's parents, grandparents and brothers were able to join us and meet Drew when he was only a few weeks old.  It was such a treat to watch Tiggy and Bumps meet their first Great-Grandchild.  What an honor.  Family is what makes the world work, and we are sure fortunate to have such a good one! See you all in Pittsburgh and Wisconsin again soon!
