I cannot believe that I have been blogging for about 7 years now. Wow. I continuously feel behind in my blogging, but I like writing, and I love sharing our journey with family. That’s really what my blog has become, a place to share and document our adventures, trips, and time with family and friends. I try to stay away from politics, academics, opinions and continue in a positive and upbeat tone, so everyone, including your grandparents, would enjoy reading about our adventures.

I have been doing a lot of reading about writing recently. I have also been doing a lot of reading in general. When I was a teenager and in my early 20’s, I put off reading as a time consuming exercise, but now with the invention of audiobooks, and carving out time to read for myself, I am buried in new and exciting content. All this reading makes me wonder if I could write. Could I write a book? If I wrote a book, would it be a novel? Non-fiction? I have always thought my life was wild – not extravagant, but adventurous. I wonder if people would read my book. I’m leaning toward non-fiction.

At the moment, I may have to focus on academic writing: papers, reviews, reports, and original research to help advance my career. Perhaps over the next few years my ideas for a book will develop. I doubt I’ll be the next Atul Gwande, but perhaps someone will load my book on their Kindle. What do you think? Are there any budding writers out there?
