It had been awhile since I had the pleasure of my bestie to dragging her buns out to Pittsburgh. The last time was with Deb and Laurie took a road trip out for the weekend to see little baby Drew man! He was a little peanut.  This time, my roomie flew out to see us!  After hours, and hours, of flight delay, then waiting for me to pick her up in the airport since I was also caught late in clinic and traffic - we reunited! I brought her back to the homestead and we started our weekend of fun!  First night we decided to hit up Pirmanti Brother's for some large sandwiches as a true Pittsburgh tradition. It's also a great place to bring kids because its loud, cheap and chaotic - three words that quickly sum up children... except the cheap part.

On Saturday I had a line up of Wisconsin activities. We were going to attend the Brewer's game at PNC stadium, and combine that with a UW-Madison alumni tailgate! Haha, essentially I made Lyssa travel all the way out here in order to reunite with some Wisconsinites. #classic  It was a good tailgate and fun to meet people. Many of us were in medicine, and one of the newest interns knew Paul's brother from medical school - small world ey?  That evening Taylor and Katie came over and we had dinner and shot the breeze. It was a nice little evening.

The next morning, the kids woke up early, as they always do and rousted Auntie out of bed.  Because I'm ridiculous, I had horseback riding also on our agenda for Sunday morning. The perfect solution to a mild flu like illness after a Brewers game.  ha!  We drove out to Bridgeville and mounted our ponies on one of the hotter days of the summer.  Luckily the horses were too warm to try anything fancy, so we had a relaxing ride.

Our Pittsburgh adventures slowly came to an end and roomie was boarding the flight back home. It was a blast to have her out in Pittsburgh. We do it every few years, so I usually fill the weekend so full of activities to make up for lost time. haha, and generally that's why it takes a while for anyone to muster the courage to come back again! Oh well!  Until next time roomie!

Love me some horseback riding.
